This One Felt Different
Some moments make you realize just how far you've come.
Most days at Bentley + Lace do not look like television.
They look like fabric spread across tables, sketches covered in notes, fittings, measurements, shipping boxes, steaming gowns, answering questions from photographers and moms, and figuring out how to turn the next idea in my head into something that can actually be worn.
So walking onto a commercial set and seeing Bentley + Lace gowns become part of a CBS production felt a little surreal.
These were not simply dresses pulled for a shoot. They represented years of designing, learning, changing, growing and continuing to believe that there was room for something different in children's and portrait couture.
The Idea Behind the Commercial
Because the dress can change the entire story.
Photographers understand this especially well. Sometimes the wardrobe isn't the finishing touch to a portrait concept. It is the beginning of it.
A dramatic skirt changes movement. A vintage silhouette changes the mood. A cape can turn a simple portrait into a storybook scene. The right texture catches light differently. The right color can inspire the backdrop, accessories and entire creative direction.
That is what we wanted the commercial to capture.
Bentley + Lace isn't about simply putting on a pretty dress. It is about what can happen once you do.

Behind the Scenes
The part you don't see in thirty seconds.
The finished commercial is polished. Behind it was a day filled with gowns, movement, direction, cameras, little moments between takes and watching the entire concept come together in real time.
Commercial day brought together six girls and one mom to help tell the Bentley + Lace story. Each look needed to feel different while still belonging to the same world—exactly the way we think about designing a collection.
Between takes came the pieces we love most: adjusting a skirt, fixing a tiny detail, watching a model find the movement of her gown, seeing personalities come through and realizing that the dresses were doing exactly what they were designed to do.

A Look Behind the Camera
For the Photographers
You don't need to own the entire closet to create the entire story.
One of the reasons our rental collection exists is because we know photographers need variety.
Your next concept may need a dramatic red gown. The one after that may need pastel tulle, vintage-inspired details, a statement cape, a tween look or a maternity gown.

A commercial may be thirty seconds. Getting there takes a village.
One of the best parts of this experience was getting to share it with people who have been part of the Bentley + Lace story.
We are incredibly grateful to the beautiful models who stepped in front of the cameras and brought the gowns to life. Every girl brought her own personality to the set, and that was exactly what we wanted.
A very special thank you also goes to Jen Sabatini Photography. Jen has supported and encouraged Bentley + Lace in such a meaningful way, and seeing some of her beautiful models become part of this milestone made the experience even more special.
And of course, to every photographer, mom, client, model and creative who has rented a gown, ordered a custom design, shared an image, recommended Bentley + Lace or trusted us with an important moment: you are part of how we got here too.
What This Moment Means
From an idea in my head to a moment on television.
There are moments in business when you are so busy working on the next dress, answering the next email, solving the next problem or packing the next rental that you don't really stop to realize how far you've come.
Watching Bentley + Lace on television was one of those moments for me.
I thought about the gowns that began as sketches. The fabrics that didn't work. The ones that did. The designs we changed ten times before getting them right. The late nights. The shipping boxes. The photos photographers have sent back to us. The moms who trusted us with birthdays, weddings, Christmas portraits and milestones.
And I thought about how something that started with the simple desire to create beautiful, unusual gowns had grown into a brand whose dresses now travel across the country.
The commercial was an exciting milestone.
But the most meaningful part is knowing that the story is still being written.
