Remnant Gown Terms & Conditions

By placing an order for a custom gown or remnant gown, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions.

Personal Use Only

All Bentley + Lace custom and remnant gowns are created exclusively for personal use. Our designs are not intended for wholesale, resale, rental, or any form of commercial use. Unauthorized resale, rental, duplication, or profit-driven use of our gowns is strictly prohibited.

Fabric Selection

We offer a curated selection of luxury fabrics for custom and remnant gowns. Once a fabric is selected and production has begun, all fabric choices are final and may not be changed.

Measurements & Sizing

Accurate measurements are essential for proper fit. It is the client’s responsibility to provide precise measurements according to our provided guidelines. Bentley + Lace is not responsible for fit issues resulting from incorrect measurements.

If you elect to use our standard sizing, you acknowledge and accept the selected size as final once production begins. Any alterations or adjustments required due to measurement inaccuracies will be the responsibility of the client and may incur additional charges. Once production has commenced, measurement changes cannot be accommodated.

Design Modifications

All design details and modification requests must be finalized prior to the start of production. While we strive to accommodate changes when possible, additional fees may apply based on complexity. Design changes requested after production has begun cannot be guaranteed.

Production Timeline

Production timelines vary based on design complexity and current workload. An estimated timeline will be provided at the time of order confirmation; however, timelines are not guaranteed and may be subject to change.

Refunds & Exchanges

Due to the made-to-order and personalized nature of custom and remnant gowns, all sales are final once production has begun. Refunds or exchanges are not offered except in the rare event of an error made by Bentley + Lace.

Remnant gown pricing is based on short custom gowns. Many remnant fabrics can be upgraded to a floor-length or high-low silhouette for an additional fee, depending on the amount of fabric available and the design selected.

Upgrade availability will be confirmed before production begins. If an upgrade is possible, pricing will be shared at that time so you can decide what works best for your vision.

If you’re unsure which option to choose, our Designer’s Choice service is a popular option—allowing our lead designer to select the most beautiful silhouette for your chosen fabric.

Remnant gowns are originally priced for child sizing. Select remnant fabrics may be eligible for an upgrade to teen or adult sizing based on fabric yardage, design complexity, and silhouette.

Availability for size upgrades is confirmed before production begins. If an upgrade is possible, additional pricing will be provided so you can decide prior to moving forward.

For clients who are flexible on silhouette or details, our Designer’s Choice option is a great way to maximize fabric usage while achieving a beautiful, well-balanced fit.

In addition to teen and adult sizing, select remnant fabrics may also be suitable for a maternity gown style, depending on fabric availability and design. Upgrade options are based on both size and silhouette, and not every remnant fabric will accommodate every style.

If you do not see an upgrade option that fits your desired size or style, please contact us before placing your order. We are happy to review fabric availability and help determine the best possible options for your gown.

For short gown styles, you may select any size within the range listed on the product page—from the smallest baby size (12/24 months) to the largest size noted. Please indicate your preferred size in the order notes at checkout.

For example, if a listing shows sizes 12 months–5 years, you may request size 3 in the notes.

Upgrades to larger sizing are only available when selecting a floor-length or high-low silhouette, with remnant fabric typically used for the bodice portion of the gown. Skirt fabrics may vary based on availability.

Once your order is placed, we will contact you by email to confirm sizing, design details, and upgrade eligibility before production begins.

Dress style and silhouette options depend on the fabric selected, size range, and whether the gown is a short, floor-length, high-low, or maternity style. Many remnant and custom fabrics are versatile and can be designed into a variety of silhouettes, while others may be better suited for specific styles.

Available options may include:

• Short or tea-length dresses
• High-low silhouettes
• Floor-length gowns
• Full or soft tulle skirts
• Layered skirts with horsehair trim
• Fitted, empire, or gently structured bodices
• Maternity-friendly silhouettes

If you’re unsure which silhouette will work best, our Designer’s Choice option allows our lead designer to select the most flattering and functional style based on fabric availability and size.

Because each gown is made individually, not all styles are available for every fabric. We will confirm all design details by email before production begins to ensure the best possible outcome.
