Rental Gown Sizing Details

Please note that when renting our gowns, the sizes may not match the exact measurements listed in our size chart. We always add a few inches to each measurement to provide additional size versatility.

This ensures that our gowns offer a more flexible fit for a wide range of body types.

How to Measure for a Custom Gown

Bust

Where to Measure: Measure around the fullest part of the bust while keeping the tape comfortably snug, but not tight. Ensure the tape is parallel to the ground.

Tip: Stand naturally with arms relaxed at your sides.

Waist

Where to Measure: Measure around the natural waistline, which is typically located about 1 inch above the belly button. Make sure the tape is parallel to the ground.

Tip: Keep a finger between the tape and your body to avoid measuring too tightly.

Shoulder to Waist

  • Where to Measure: Place the measuring tape at the top of the shoulder, right where the shoulder meets the neck. Measure down to the natural waistline (just above the belly button).
  • Tip: Keep the tape taut but not tight. Ensure the measuring tape runs straight down the body, and the person stands tall with shoulders relaxed.

Waist to Hem

  • Where to Measure: Start at the natural waistline (about 1 inch above the belly button) and measure straight down to the desired hem length (usually floor-length for gowns).
  • Tip: Wear the shoes you plan to wear with the gown to ensure the length is accurate. Stand straight with feet together when measuring.

Hips

Where to Measure: Measure around the fullest part of the hips, usually around 8–10 inches below the waistline. Keep the tape level.

Tip: Stand with feet together when measuring.

Hollow to Hem (Length)

Where to Measure: Start at the center of your collarbone (the hollow) and measure straight down to where you want the hem to fall (usually floor length).

Tip: Wear the shoes you plan to wear with the gown to ensure the correct length.

Shoulder to Shoulder

Where to Measure: Measure from the outer edge of one shoulder to the outer edge of the other shoulder across the back.

Tip: Make sure your shoulders are relaxed while measuring.

Arm Length (For Sleeves)

Where to Measure: Measure from the shoulder seam (where the arm connects to the body) down to the wrist or desired sleeve length.

Tip: Keep the arm slightly bent when measuring.

Neck to Waist

Where to Measure: Measure from the base of your neck (center front) down to the natural waistline.

Tip: Keep your head straight and shoulders relaxed.

Bicep (For Sleeve Fit)

Where to Measure: Measure around the widest part of your upper arm.

Tip: Keep your arm relaxed at your side.

Inseam (For Pants/Skirt Gowns)

Where to Measure: Measure from the crotch to the bottom of the ankle.

Tip: If you are measuring for pants, it’s good to use a pair of pants that fit well as a reference.
